What is a neolith worktop and why you’ll want one for your kitchen

Neolith worktops are a new type of stone worktop that offers the beauty of a marble worktop with a huge number of practical advantages you can’t get from marble. If you like the look of a marble worktop, read on to find out why a neolith worktop is likely to suit your needs better.

What is a neolith worktop and why you’ll want one for your kitchen

What is a neolith worktop?

A neolith worktop is made from natural neolith stone. Neolith is a stunning ceramic stone that looks like marble but has extremely robust properties. It’s quarried in huge slabs in Spain and comes in a range of colours, making it ideal for use as a kitchen worktop.

Neolith stone is made from 100% clay or sand. Neolith includes lots of minerals like quartz which make it extremely robust. It’s high performing with a thinner surface than other top stones which makes neolith lighter to carry. As a result, neolith is cost-effective because it’s extremely easy to transport.

Why choose a neolith worktop for your kitchen?

Neolith kitchen worktops have quickly found favour with the public because they offer exceptional resistance to heat, stains, scratches, chemicals and even UV light.

A neolith worktop is incredibly hardwearing, and the slabs come in lots of different shades and styles so it’s easy for everyone to find a slab they like.

Neolith’s sintered manufacturing processes mean you’re getting a ceramic worktop that’s 100% natural stone and free from any polymers. It’s also easy to install because neolith’s lighter in weight than quartz or marble.

Neolith has beautiful grey veining, however, if you have your heart set on the distinct veining of original Calacatta marble, Calacatta quartz will give you all you need.

Why all these alternatives to marble?

Although marble looks spectacular, it’s not a practical choice for the kitchen environment. Marble is highly absorbent, easily scratched and marred by everything from dropped cookware to heat.

Marble quartz is manufactured from natural quartz to provide a far more practical option for the kitchen environment. Although both quartz worktops and neolith worktops both contain quartz, quartz worktops are almost completely composed of natural quartz.

The higher concentration of quartz plus other factors mean whilst neolith countertops are extremely hardwearing, in a competition between the two, a quartz countertop would be just a notch ahead of a neolith countertop so its price tag is a little higher.

Do you sell directly to the public?

Yes, we supply all kinds of worktops including neolith worktops. By doing so we can ensure you get the best service and price. By cutting out the middleman and passing the savings on to you.

What must I have on site when you arrive to do the templating?

Before the survey you need to ensure all cabinets are level, have sufficient braces and are secure firmly to the wall. Make sure you know the final location of the sinks, hobs, taps and any other fittings required with your neolith worktops and have these available on site. Please ensure after the survey cabinets are not moved as the measurements taken during the survey are crucial for a perfect worktop installation. Any changes after the survey will cause significant delays and incur extra charges.

Can we plaster the walls after you have templated?

No, this needs to be done before the templating. Tiling should be done after the neolith worktops are installed.

How long from the templating will it take to fit my worktops?

We normally deliver and fit neolith worktops within 4-10 working days from the survey.(7 day from sale to fit on certain occasions, call for details)

How accurate is an online quote?

The price calculated using the online guide price, which will only change if and when we come out to template, the measurements and your requirements change from the original quote online.

Outstanding service, I couldn’t be more pleased with how my worktops came out, I ordered calacatta white and this is by far the cheapest place I found, they got a quote to me within a few hours and even helped me pick what material was best for my kitchen as I’ve had issues in the past. I can’t say enough positive things about them, the fitters were amazing so polite and kind, cleaned up all the mess and polished the worktops. I am so so impressed with this service and would highly highly recommend it.
I shall be writing a review anywhere they let me as they couldn’t do enough to make sure the job was perfect 😁
